Did they offer him a refund? This is another good reason for registering your vehicles out of state like I do.report abuse

We should be building them here in Somerset County and promoting them statewide!

While in Kentucky look what their Governor says:

FRANKFORT, KY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 08/06/08 -- Steve Schneider, CEO for ZAP (OTCBB: ZAAP) and Ashraf Saeed, COO of the Al Yousuf Group, stood by while Governor Steve Beshear yesterday signed an Executive Order directing the Transportation Cabinet to immediately develop and implement an emergency regulation authorizing the use of low-speed electric vehicles on Kentucky's roadways, including the Xebra, a 40 MPH electric car and truck.

"Kentuckians, like all Americans, are hard hit by record-high gas prices," Gov. Beshear said at a news conference today announcing the order. "These tough times call for creative solutions, and I believe allowing Kentuckians the option of using an electric vehicle is one of those solutions. Electric vehicles may help ease the burden on the pocketbooks of hard-working Kentucky families, as well as reduce their carbon footprint."report abuse

Good one, BoBo42.

Maybe I am missing the point here, but I see people on two wheel bicyles every day - saw a two seater on a paved public way just yesterday. Bicycles don't even have lights and relecters most of the time now. Hand signals for safe turning went out decades ago.

How many times have you been driving on the highway and been passed by speeding motorcycles, complete with drivers without helmets, leather protective clothing or seat belts?

Let the fellow use his electric three wheeler. Keep him off the interstate along with the bicycles and horses. This should have been a no brainer (but I guess that's pretty much the point - no brain). Can't stand the thoughts of not getting those gas tax tax receipts.

Ah, progress.report abuse

Do you have to register a horse and buggy?
I see signs where they are not allowed on the turnpike. So they must be allowed every where else.
I am sure so old records will show that the town must have water troughs, with a hand pump.
Instructions on how to prime a pump in 12 different languages would be required.
Then testing of the water.
I can see town boards looking at a "road apple" and wondering if it is a toxic waste. Once a month they could have road apple collection days.
Horse and buggy inspection by DMV.
Driver licence with picture with the horse. Proof horse was born in USA.
On and on and on.
What about out houses?report abuse
