This reasoning for shooting down the proposal was the most out there for me, "teachers could be arbitrarily reassigned." Why would they do that? We can play a thousand what ifs like that one but I agree with Davis on this. We are being shortsighted not to work this out before the state steps in and makes the decisions that we, as a community, could do on our own terms now.report abuse

Why don't we just disolve each little town which will eliminate the imaginary wall that is built up. Then we are one town with one common goal. I know to simple but yet no one will give up their turf.report abuse

On the one hand, having the schools under one jurisdiction with the school district responsible for the maintenance and upkeep sounds like a good thing - but on the other hand, that makes each community responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all the schools in the entire district. Whether that's good or bad financially is a question many are perhaps asking.

As far as assigning teachers to schools within the district, I don't see that as a major issue.report abuse

The main problem with the entire consolidation is TIME! They are trying to push this through too quickly. It is scaring the crap out of people. There are too many questions and no answers. Let's slow the process down and answer some questions and move forward more slowly!report abuse
