Péché Mortel was your most disappointing experience? Wow! My friends and I all pretty much think it's the best stuff ever. Other beer geeks agree. On Ratebeer.com, a site with (in their own words) "1.4 million reviews of 76,000 beers from over 8000 brewers worldwide," users put it in the top one percent.

Everyone has his or her personal tastes, so I'm not faulting the author here. But to other readers, don't let this column lead you away from what many people consider one of the greatest beers on earth.
