Aldin, I checked on the internet and TheSaint is correct the plant in Yarmouth produces 620 megawatts or 413.3 times the amount of the Winslow dam's 1.5 megawatts. Your "one source" very likely Fletcher, claims producing 1.5 megawatts from an oil fired generator like one of the four at Wyman Unit 4 produces 6,200 tons of CO2. That means Yarmouth is producing over 2.5 million (2,562,666.6) tons of CO2 from its' generation! That's 7021 tons every day out of Yarmouth! Someone call Al Gore! My guess is the feds would be shutting down that plant as quickly as they could drive over there if that was true. That's a whole lot of pollution. I doubt Bethlehem Steel in Baltimore produced that in it's heyday. That sky over Yarmouth looks blue and clean the other day but birds flying overhead must be dropping from the sky when they fly over Wyman Unit 4. You sure you still want to stand behind those numbers of logic?report abuse

Cyril, those records can be obtained from Dana Murch at the DEP in Augusta. Ask for the transcript of the last China Lake Level hearing, I believe the year was 2003, in any case it was the last one.

I believe you will find a lawyer from the law firm in question had officially intervened. Ask Mr. Murch who the intervenes were, that will cut to the chase for you and save a lot of time.report abuse

Almost all the arguments about the energy loss have had cooked up numbers. I said a while ago I wouldn't post anymore, but it seems people from out of state and those with there own agenda keeping trying to provoke people to get upset about the dams removal.
While I was walking the banks yesterday I had a lady comment to me how sad it was, to which I asked what's the sad part. Her comment was all the dead fish, but there was not one dead fish anywhere within sight. People believe what they are told to believe because it was obvious someone filled her head with the story. Yes I saw many dead mussels, but could you imagine the crew it would have required to remove all the mussels on the banks. But at least I saw ground that hasn't been seen for over 100 years. And within no time all that area will be overgrown with grass, then the trees will start filling in.report abuse
