The headline should be changed. "Would-be" is incorrect. Ann Turbyne is an Olympian, not a "would-be."

Let's hope no other American athletes will ever have to face the possibility of a stupid politician inserting his ignorance into the sports world. Athletes like Ann Turbyne put too much of themselves into their craft to ever again allow a boycott to destroy their right to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."report abuse

Ann, whether or not you competed in Moscow, you're a Gold Medalist in my mind. You're a great person, a great athlete, and a great teacher. Now that you have those medals, enjoy them!report abuse
