We Boomers here in Maine keep on keepin' on. We work our jobs, pay our taxes, buy our groceries, stay in town 'cause we can't afford gas to go too far, and now we are expected to pay more taxes. "We the people..." are supposed to be protected and supported by fair and just ways of government. It seems that we the people will have to work forever so that we can support the state and local government in their unfair and unjust ways. I for one am sick and tired of paying more for less, everyday. I will never be able to retire because I live within my means, paycheck to paycheck, just like a lot of other hard working Grandma's and Grandpa's here in Maine the "Taxation State". I'm glad we Boomers grew up having a strong work ethic, or the whole state would be on welfare. It's just too bad that we are expected to pay so much for so little. And it's too bad that Maine makes it so easy for our young people to be welfare recipients. Wake up, Grow up, and GET A JOB!!!report abuse

Great plug for LL Bean, what should have been discussed was the pay scale and lack of unionization.report abuse

Nothing against these people being profiled, but is this all the Sentinel has for news the last few days. Today, the BOOMER section is 3 of 10 articles. Please tell me there's more local news than this!

As a person that lives out of the region and can't on a regular basis get access to a hard copy of the paper, I'd dare venture a guess that the paper is still as this as ever, even with 33% of the local news being in the form of this so-called BOOMER news. I don't like it and I think the reporters could WORK to uncover other news in the region.

The Sentinel is a small town paper, but there is no reason why there isn't more news and less personal profile. This is disgusting.report abuse
