It's the responsibility of all people, including incarcerated people, to follow a court order. The order is not binding on anyone else but the defendant. It's not the responsibility of anyone involved but the person subject to the court order to follow it.

That said, I've always felt that "no contact" orders should be mutual and equal. The two people should be ordered to stay away from each other. They apparently cannot be together without causing mayhem and creating a danger to one another. At the very least, the "victim" has appealed to the court for "protection" from this individual. Once that "protection" is granted, the only contact should be through the court, either attorneys or in the courtroom.

Enough of this already. Enough people killed and injured. Enough resources wasted on "Protection Orders" issued on the basis of misinformation, disinformation, and outright lies.

I am 100% in favor of a protection order being granted in cases where it is needed and asked for. When that happens, it must become the responsibility of the person asking for it to see that it is enforced. Nobody else is capable of accomplishing that.report abuse

I'm really curiou why the staff at the jail didn't notice the name of the person viviting him! You have to log into a book and show ID when you go in. "He should have notified the staff"????? When is it the inmates duty to up hold the law?report abuse
