Noah's resume is not complete without including the year he spent with us at Albemarle Baking Company. one of the nation's premier artisan bakeries. Your readers should know that he was a valued member of our team, and has proven difficult to replace.report abuse

I've found that you can't fairly judge a resturant based on one experience since there are going to be good and bad nights wherever you eat at any one time. Give it another chance.report abuse

Had I eaten there three years ago I probably would be making the same comments you are now, with no offense meant to our predecessors in the kitchen at Lakewood.

However, since then, especially this year, things have changed tremendously, with a new emphasis on quality, sophistication and the history of Lakewood. The ingredients are fresher, the food is prepared with a more refined level of technique, and the platings that are being served are being well received.

I'd encourage everyone who once had a bad experience at Lakewood to try it once more. A lot can change in three years, and it would be a shame to miss out on what we, as brothers, feel is something special for Madison and Maine in general.report abuse

I have to admit that the history of the building is a great marketing tool and the building itself is beautiful. However, the price for the quality of the meals is way overpriced, unless the cook changed from 3 years ago. That was the first and the only time I ever went. Everyone at my table had the same experience because we all payed for an average meal with an above average price and none of us have returned since.report abuse
