I normally wouldn't say this, but people like Michael Heath usually have person issues with their own sexual orientation.report abuse

The religious community has the luxury of being protected from discrimination (i.e. if I owned a business, I could not legally fire an employee just because they are a Christian).

Christians are “absolutely” sure that homosexuality is a choice, despite what the majority of the academic/scientific/medical community says. But isn't religion a choice as well? If Christians want to discriminate against me since they say I have a choice over my sexuality... why can't I discriminate against them? Religion is a choice- no question about that (though some might argue people are highly influenced by authority figures- parents, politicians, clergy, etc.).

If Michael Heath wants to take away my "special rights," I say we take away his "special rights" as well!

Note: I would never advocate such a measure against religious expression. Discrimination based on religion, color, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation & gender identity, age, sex, disability, etc. is morally wrong on so many levels in my opinion.report abuse

We're kind of "between a rock and a hard place", aren't we? I prefer the constitutional approach, but maybe I am too much of an idealist. And yes, we have been lied to nearly forever by the parties in control, and I'm afraid the worst is yet to come - from "both sides of the aisle". That "bi-partisan" BS is more than I can take sometimes. It should be stated "non-partisan"!
I'm rambling. Peace!report abuse

Wayne - It appears we have to create individual laws to address every situation simply because we don't abide by the Constitution as written. If all men were treated equally, we wouldn't have these problems, would we? What is the alternative? Unless things are spelled out specifically, they're ignored. Makes you wonder what became of this Country as envisioned . . .

Then again, even at the time of the writing of the Constitution, slavery was accepted, women had no rights, witches were burned to the stake . .so, perhaps they lied as much back then as they do now.report abuse
