Vassalboro has to place the flash boards in the dam spillway when the flow in the outlet stream gets to “capacity”. Vassalboro will have to take that action as they did in ’83 when the level of the Lake got away from them because the initial water level has been kept artificially high since 1969.
The Maine DEP and BEP have been protecting their own interests since raising the lake and sneaking in, without the benefit of a public hearing, three sewerage plants on the China Lake Outlet Stream that need some extra water from China Lake to reduce the public health risk from their actions.
Will the Governors Office stand up to the plate and will the Federal Government reimburse the people who get flooded out of their homes and loose everything because of bad decisions by the State, the Town of Vassalboro and most of all the crooked Maine DEP? Or will the State slip the issue and leave the residents of Vassalboro liable when they again place the flashboards in the dam spillway to prevent downstream flooding while flooding the $&%^$ of out China?
Vassalboro got away with it in ’83 because China was asleep and didn’t realize the lake flooded China because of actions Vassalboro took, don’t expect China to be that dumb again.
Vassalboro taxpayers learn what is going on and protect yourself. Have you noticed the Maine DEP has so much power and control the neither the China Select Board nor the Vassalboro Select Board has had much if anything to say about this issue. Doesn’t that make you wonder if they just don’t want to be on record and get caught with their pants less than up?
