The whales were here first Mike. Deal with it. We will judge our worth as kings of Earth by how we treat them all.report abuse

Sure, knock off another species. It's not like they affect the eco-system or anything. Everything is connected and when we loose a link, we loose more than we realize that is more important than the "need" to eat lobsters, which by the way, are over-fished as well. This shouldn't be about politics left or right, but it should be about the future of our children and our planet!!!!! Stop being so one-dimensional people!!!!!report abuse

So the answer is no, you have no compassion for fisherman who need time to change equipment. The fisherman should find new jobs, somewhere.

Is this what we can expect from a democrat president? The government makes a law change and either you pay up or live on the street?

I think the whales will survive a year while the fishermen raise the money.report abuse

I usually don’t respond to a difference of opinion to mine but in Mike’s case I’ll make an exception.

Mike, man has survived by being able to evolve and adapt to new ways of living and doing business. You seem to believe if something is being done it should be allowed to continue regardless of the consequences. What if it was determined that the use of slavery was the only way a lobsterman could make ends meet, would that be OK with you.

Is it OK with you that government changes the way a business does business for the good of all. Is it OK with you that an endangered species be protected from needless death or are you just one of these religious fanatics that think man has the “right” to dominate all the creatures on the earth, TO MAKE MONEY?report abuse
