This discovery is a true treasure trove. So many times when people pass away, very important historical documents get tossed out. It's just mind-boggling to witness acts of this nature. I am so glad these items were saved. Our past history is so important for us to review.report abuse

"You don't have to be a history nut to be intrigued with a town vote back in 1795 that asked residents to approve money to equip soldiers who could not afford to equip themselves."

I suspect they have the date wrong on that one. The brave soldiers fighting in Iraq suffer daily from missing or poor-quality items needed for their safety. I've seen people trying to get personal donations to help them out, since Bush & Cheney simply don't care.

Just erase the "1795" date on that one, and write "2008."report abuse
