The Sheriff that did the initial interview was treated the person that reported it like the criminal. He couldn't understand why the person knew what was missing because he called the people that owned the camps and got details. The Sheriff acted annoyed that he had to handle the situation to begin with.

So glad they caught the scumbags! They do deserve mandatory jail time just for taking the firearms.report abuse

The theft of firearms should result in mandatory sentences in state prison. If Maine does not already have a provision which requires a mandatory addition of 2 to 5 years in state prison for stealing a firearm, then it's high time such a provision be added to the legal codes.

Or the state could kick this over to the feds for firearms prosecution under ATF regulations.report abuse
