Men and Women have fought and lost lives to give these young yahoos the right to express themselves. But this is way beyond anything I would ever imagine coming from yet a collage student in Maine.
Maybe this young lady needs to change her area of study.
She wants to research let her research this: specifically
UNITED STATES CODE, TITLE 36, CHAPTER 10, PATRIOTIC CUSTOMS, as well as and especially: CHAPTER 33, § 700. Desecration of the flag of the United States; penalties.
(a)(1) Whoever knowingly mutilates, defaces, physically defiles, burns, maintains on the floor or ground, or tramples upon any flag of the United States shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than one year, or both.
Does anyone in the State of Maine have the kahoonas to enforce this law?
I doubt it, but if this young lady wants to make a statement, she has done so. She has shown her disrespect for this country, she has shown her disrespect for our National Flag, and she has shown her disrespect for every service member that puts on a uniform, past present and future to give her the right to show such a disgraceful ignorant pompous way to express herself. I hope her parents are proud of her. I wouldn't be.
Unreal that the UMF and their attorneys none less would even allow this.
The State of Maine needs to get a backbone and make an example of this young girl.

UM send her home until she grows up some more and understands the word Respect. Until then in my opinion, she doesnt deserve an education.report abuse
