Yes, but think of all the money we can raise by fining the violators. More feel good legislation to set up another income stream for the socialists in Augusta, that's all.report abuse

This proposal is feel-good nonsense.

It will not make one iota of difference in air quality, economics, or foreign oil dependance.

The very last thing Maine needs is MORE laws, MORE regulation, MORE government regulating every little petty aspect of life.

Meaningless gestures that have no effect are not solutions to a problem. This is nothing more than political grandstanding, an opportunity for more paperwork, and a way for the state to slap fines on truckers, since Augusta can't seem to manage its budget without constantly finding new funding sources.

The Maine Government can't run it's business in the black but are telling trucker's how to save money. Just another infringement in free commerce.

How about some jobs people? Where's the jobs? How about some factories? Tax incentives?

Typical big government Democrat. Can't bear to have anything happen in the state without some darned rule or law to regulate it.

How about go to hell home? Don't do another cussed thing. Shut off the lights, turn down the heat, and go home. We'd all be better off for it.

Here's a proposal for you. No more laws. Not another single one. Unless the proposal includes the repeal of a different law. Can't propose anymore new laws unless the proposal pulls another law that's not doing anything.

No new fees, or raised fees, unless accompanied by a spending reduction in an equal amount. Likewise with taxes.

How about we ask Joe Gray from Portland politely if he'd like to be governor? He got Portland back within budget, and it didn't take a high committee to do it either. Nobody liked it, or likes it now. But one thing is for sure, the hole just gets deeper and harder to climb out of. And it's not going to get more likable as time goes on.report abuse
