Universal, single-payer health care, without the useless insurance companies, will allow all Americans to receive health care anywhere in the country without worrying about worrying about whether the provider is "in" or "out" of a provider network. No surprise bills to pay!report abuse

As stated Maine is on their way to "universal health care". Maine cannot afford it. How will this country afford it? When the state enacted the law of guarantee issue, most Health Insurance companies left the state and now we have the unenviable choice of no insurance or Anthem Blue Cross. If the state decided to go to what say Conn.or Ohio for example has for laws on Health Ins. they would do the Hard working self employed a huge favor and bring competition back to the buyers of Private Health Insurance and finally give them a break, instead of constanly working againist them. If the State could insure all their employees less inexpensively now, what would that do to bring the State budget into line and inturn reduce Maine's taxes!!!!report abuse
