Right on astinson of Clinton. No matter the good news, these folks are never happy unless they can b***h about everything around them. I actually feel sorry for them and their way of life. Such a waste of energy and so negative, not good for your health. Glad you made a point about the pay and benefits not being what people believe they are. Being in the private sector, I have better benefits and pay, and get more than a cost of living raise. She will receive nothing because of this huge accomplishment, except this award.report abuse

I dont know why you all have to be so damn mean, this is a nice article about a person who has done something above and beyond what is expected of her job. Postal employees do not get bonuses or more money in their paycheck when they sell more stamps or send more packages. They don't get a raise every time the price of a stamp goes up either. Outside of Maine it would be very difficult to live on what they pay. You don't get all of the civil servant benefits that used to exist years ago. You pay into your OWN 401k and the health insurance benefits are very expensive and cover very little and dental coverage is practically non-existent.I agree that the Post Office has issues, but that wasn't the point you idiots! It was kudos to someone who deserved it. If she makes going in to do what you have to do a little better than good for her.report abuse

astinson - hope that's not your picture I see on the SRO website.

down here, ebay resellers are faced with $1000.00 fines because the auctioneers want them all retroactively to register as auctioneers. seems someone is afraid of competition.

better hope baldacci never catches on to that one; just think of the revenue he can pull in with fines of even half that size.report abuse

Let me get this right, one guy is selling on E-Bay and doing 3/4 of the revenue for this Post Office. One guy?! This guy is the Post Office!

Shut down Shawmut PO, and make the E-Bay guy go to Fairfield.

How come the little town of Sidney doesn't have a Post Office. Start one there if start-ups are allowed. Fastest growing town in Maine for 10 years + and they don't have one. Makes you wonder! Maverick.report abuse
