You appear to want to slander MoveOn. Don't bother because people aren't swallowing this stuff. Republicans are trying to pull their usual game of twist and shout, and it's not going to work. The Sean Hannity's of the world are just reaching the missle head wingnuts of the right, they aren't speaking to the middle that wins elections. The MoveOn ad that you so dearly wanted Allen to denouce was intended to spark debate, and it wasn't making a statement about that general. The point is that the Bush administration had stopped debate in the runup to war, saying there was no time. Then during the war they said no, no, can't debate becasue that's "second guessing." The General Petraeus (sp) situation was one where Republicans were trying to dissuade debate about the present and future in Iraq. That's what it was all about. MoveOn is one of the few honorable organizations out there with the middle class Americans at heart. Thankfully we have a few of those, becasue the right wing smear factory is well funded and working overtime, as usual.report abuse
I think Tiredtaxpayer was making a statement. He doesn't think that Collins and Snowe are conservative enough to be called Republicans. I'm pretty sure that's what he meant. He has taken that tact before. I'm happy if Republicans don't vote or vote for Allen. I want Collins ousted and think Allen will do a good job if given the nod.report abuse

"Kim Pettengill, who has been a party activist for more than three decades, said Saturday's [2008] was the largest Kennebec County caucus turnout since 1980, the year Ronald Reagan won his first GOP nomination for president."
