I want to know if the power company will create roads to access
the river seeing that it is all bordering private property
it should be done at no cost to Winslow;;;
I was born and raised in winslow, I spent many summers on that beautifull river all this is a shame

Al Althenn,
So, is removing the dam going to remove the wastewater - or stop its influx into the stream and the Kennebec?

...and, others,
After this dam is gone, they (the fish-loving environmentalists) will proceed upstream to Newport. I suppose removing all the dams back to the Sebasticook Lake will help the fish that are there survive with that water level lowered dramatically because of all the dam(ned) exterminations.
Leave the dam and return to Florida where they're not needed.report abuse

FPL should bail out and leave The Impoundment to the whiners! Let the special people behind the dam take care of it.report abuse

Scott Hermey is a victim of this dam removal. All the agencies involved in the removal, as well as FPL and the town of Winslow should all step up and take responsibility for destroying someones home if it comes to that. Someone at the Winslow town office needs to step forward and tell this man he will be taken care of if the house is damaged. They can work the details out with the other agencies and FPL as some kind of shared expense. Hermey has no control over the situation and shouldn't be left holding the bag.

Do the right thing and quit being so petty!report abuse
