the operator/owner has 72 hours to retrive the machines themselves after that the state steps in and all cost are billed to the person maine law does not allow skimming snowmobiles across open water and when those people mess up and go through im sure there is a fine involved that being said 3 winters ago my 4 wheeler and i went through messalonskee lake in oakland and i had to call a diver i found 1 that wanted 2500.00 just to put his suit on another wanted 800.00 to put it back on top of the ice finaly i found dave's dive service out of rome maine i hired him for 150.00 an hour and it took 45 mins to retrive my 4 wheelerreport abuse
