Great going Skowhagen! you all made the national news again.

"A volunteer firefighter has filed a lawsuit against her former employer claiming she was fired because she didn't show up for work after helping put out a fire in the overnight hours. In a complaint in Kennebec County Superior Court, Katherine Billings says she was let go from the Community Care social services agency in Skowhegan after calling in sick one morning last February after working a house fire in Clinton"..

Rocky, are you ignorant? Or are you just a sexist a$$ hole? We have a couple women on are department, and so do the departments surrounding us. To tell you the truth, some of these women work harder than some of the men. I could make a hour long argument for having women on fire departments but unfortunately I'm short on time. Perhaps the reason we don't have more female firefighters on our departments is because people like Rocky berade, critisize, and just plain disrespect women for who they are and the position that they have. He probably dosn't agree with female police officers either, but guarenteed that I know a couple that could VERY easily toss him around the room like a rag doll. Rocky, word of advice, THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK! And once again, good luck to Ms. Billing's!report abuse

Rocky, your last comment makes it sound like you have no respect for woman. Dig your head out of your a$$, did you get stuck in time? This woman volunteers her time for others and got canned because of it. I hope she wins.report abuse

I think some are giving the outfit she worked for too much credit. I hope she nails them to the wall..report abuse
