What a heart touching story..My love and prayers I send this dear, courageous lady..I have a nephew , whose dad donated a kidney to his son.The son was just 13 at the time, and is now 30 years old , and the kidney is doing it's job perfectly. I pray that her next transplant , does the same.Keep up the positive attitude, altnough not easy, I'm sure..report abuse

On January 17th, 2007 my sixteen year old son Jonathan received his driver’s license. After inquiring about organ donation, he replied “it’s just the right thing to do”. Jonathan died on February 13,2007. It has been reported that only five people have been saved by Jonathan. That is not accurate. Jonathan has in fact saved or enhanced the lives of more people than we will ever know. From donations associated with “organ donation”; corneas, arteries, bone, to major life sustainable organs, Jonathan lives on in adults as well as babies. The babies, we are honored in Jonathan’s memory, without the gift of life they would not have known life. We are especially proud of the fifteen year old defensive end which was Jonathan’s position. He now lives with Jonathan’s heart, and the beat goes on. Not many think of organ/tissue donation at the time of receiving a driver’s license and it rarely returns to mind. It comes back most often at driver license renewal or when faced with tragedy. We are very proud of Jonathan’s decision in death to give life. They say “life is not measured by the breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away.” Either side is a breath taking moment. Please share life. My best wishes to Senator Daggett and all those awaiting transplantation.report abuse
